Under Construction

Hello and welcome to Kuntry Girl Flower Farm! Please bear with us; this blog is under construction...as is the farm!

We will be updating the blog as the farm develops...in the meantime, please feel free to e-mail with any questions you might have.

After planting a test crop this year, we are anticipating our first "real" crop starting in Spring 2010. Our fundamental reason for starting the farm is to give the general public the ability to buy fresh flowers from a local grower.

In our opinion, there is nothing quite like fresh flowers in the home. Whether it's a mason jar full of wildflowers or a carefully thought out arrangement, flowers have the ability to brighten any room and bring cheer to any occasion.

How the farm will work:

Since the farm will not be open to the public (i.e.; "u-cut") we will continuously update this blog with a list of our "in season" flowers, accompanied by photos. Then, watch for us at Orting's Saturday Market, which generally runs from July through August. If desired, special orders can be placed via e-mail and picked up at the market.

Our farm is family-run, which does allow some flexibility. For example, if one wanted to place a large order for a wedding, summer party, etc. we can offer a more "one on one" approach, such as setting up a meeting to view samples and ideas.

Another option for those who live in Orting is to sign up for our subscription service. With this service you can have fresh flowers waiting on your doorstep each Saturday morning for the number of weeks that you choose during our growing season. This service will be offered to a limited number of customers for our first growing season, so you will want to sign up early! Flower subscriptions also make wonderful gifts for new brides, new moms, wives, parents...anyone really! Who doesn't love flowers? We will have gift certificates available for those who would like to give the gift of flowers. More details on this service to come in the near future.

We take great pride in the quality of our flowers, as well as our committment to responsible farming practices. We practice organic methods of farming, focusing on building healthy soil that our flowers thrive in, without the use of chemicals.

We look forward to making new friends in our community and are eagerly anticipating our first growing season!

Thank you for stopping by our page...updates to follow!
